  • American Extremists Fearful of Assange

American Extremists, Neo-Cons are now very fearful of Assange, the Wikileaks founder. While they were defending their right to 'freedom of expression' when Muslims demonstrated against their blasphemous attacks against Islam, today they claim the same 'freedom' is not warranted and that Assange is an 'enemy' of the USA.

  • Wikileaks opened Russia's eyes on West

Wikileaks gave Russia true picture of American/Western thoughts on their country, their government and their leaders. This made Russia's Prime Minister V. Putin react.

Although NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said that "NATO is an unparalleled community of freedom, peace, security and shared values", we always remember NATO(North Atlantic Treaty Organization) with its wars, injustices, wrongs, and as a servant of the United States.

PDF Print E-mail

Russia's bid for its hosting of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Finals projects the sale of 3,141,000 tickets that will be made possible with the building of 13 brand new stadiums across the country. FIFA in its preliminary reports, has said Russia's bid was promising since there were lower risks if the World Cup were organize in Russia. Russia has also submitted a budget of USD641.3 million for a FIFA Confererations Cup and FIFA World Cup in 2017 and 2018.

In FIFA's evaluation report on Russia's bid, it is written that Russia is proposing the maximization of exposure to Russia for visitors and facilitate participation in the FIFA World Cup for as many Russian regions as possible through a geographic clustering of the candidate Host cities.

The bid proposes 13 cities and 16 stadiums to be the city hosts for the games, exceeding FIFA's minimum expectations. Three of the stadiums will be renovated while 13 new ones will be built at a cost of USD3.82 billion.

The 13 candidate Host Cities for the FIFA World Cup are Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Moscow, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavi, Samara, Volgograd, Saransk,  Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi and Yekaterinburg. These cities are grouped into five clustes: The Central Cluster, the Northern luster, the Volga Cluster,  the Southern Cluster, and the Ural Cluster. The clustering of the cities is aimed at reducing the differnce in the time zones that could affect the conduct of the FIFA World Cup.

Russia has also provided several good points on the progression and development of football in Russia in relation to its World Cup bid and these are not to be taken
lightly since it shows that the country is very keen in having a great footballing future.

The country has outlined in its bidding proposals how its government and the Fussian Football Union (RUF) can achieve development plans for the period 2006-2015 to increase participation in football across Russia and its 18 adjoining countries. Russia indicated it would work closely with FIFA to manage these development programmes. The bid mentions the following development activities:
a)  Seven main development projects: Stadiums for Children; Futsal to Schools; RFU Goal; Centres of Football; Football of the Future; Football as Social Phenomenon:

a) RFU's and World Football Community;

b) "inspiration for Success': e.g. invstment project to improve international relations and provide assistance to the former Soviet republics:

c) 'Share the inspiration": tailor-made football development programmes:

d) Pre-FIFA World Cup tournaments such as street soccer, youth cup, Girls cup and Disable Cup.  The finals dedicated to take place in the World Cup host cities.

Russia's football is respected world wide, with a number of its players having made it to International level and playing for clubs like Manchester United
in the British Premier League. With this in mind, it is hoped by many that FIFA will opt for Russia as the winning bidder for the 2018 World Cup.

Russia, officially known as the Russian Federation, has a population of 143 million. The candidate host cities are almost all situated in the European part of the federation. This area extends across two standard time zones and observes daylight saving time during the summer. Yekaterinburg, situated to the  east of the Ural Federal District, has a time zone of UTC+6 during the summer. Russian is the main language in the European part of the federation which is home to 80% of the population.

The Russian economy is based on oil, natural minerals, metals and timber accounting for more than 80% of Russian exports abroad. Since 2003, however, exports of natural resources have been decreasing in economic importance as the international market has grown considerably.
