Flotilla Attack Not A Mistake For Israel

PDF Print E-mail

The press is moving away from stories about Israel's attacks on the Peace Flotilla to Gaza. While to many non-Israeli and non-Western observers, writers and journalists the attack was a turning point in the dark history of Israel's bloody handling of the Palestinian affairs, to the Israelis and the Americans in particular it was a great moment of victory.

I read somewhere that the Israeli government violated international law when it attacked a civilian aid flotilla in international waters about 77 miles off the coast of Gaza. To the Israelis and their American sponsors, the violation was 77 times less than they wanted. The wish of Tel Aviv is to wipe out everything non-Israeli withing those 77 miles of murky waters.

I also read that the Netanyahu-Lieberman government has scored a moral low point in ordering the attack. For all I know, there is no moral low point for the Israelis in general - though not for all - and for the Netanyahu regime, it was a high moral factor by attacking the flotilla that wanted to 'salvage' the Palestinians but was going to 'destroy' the Israeli might altogether.

Israel is mighty and this even in the eyes of the Jewish God says the extremists among the Israelis. Read through the editorials in the New York Times, the Times and Newsweek or less lavish and popular papers in the U.S. and parts of Europe. To the 'respected' Western journalists, Israel was right in killing people who 'attacked' them when its killing team boarded the MV Marmara in international waters. What is there to be 'moralist' about the killing they write while the Muslims and those who supports the anti-Israeli endeavours in the Flotilla cries foul.

Again, the press is slowly killing the story, even refusing to mount a campaign against the obvious aggressions of Israel. The question is whether the world stops working when the Western press stops accusing Israel?

This is where the more obvious come into the picture: That there is need for more Flotilla's to haunt the Israelis on the high seas in order to bring to their door the shame of their crimes. This is one potential resultant that could disrupt the Israeli pride and make them - force them - to admit they were 'holocaustic' in their addressing ot the Palestinian need for the Freedom to Exist!

I would say here that the brave warriors who died on the Marmara should not be forgotten and their spirit of freedom should be upheld by sending more and more flotilla's - by sea, air and land - to Gaza in order to help dismantle the shameful Israeli (and that of its cohorts) banishment of livelihood to the Gazans.

who cares aabout the palestinians? their arab neighbours certainly dont. This flotilla was aimed at provoking a precise response from the israelis and they certainly did achieve that. when the first sayeret commando boarded the mv marmara he was clubbed with metal bars, some commandos even had gunshot wounds. even an angel wouldn't have sat by and let these hooligans shoot him. let's face the facts, death to a muslim isn't such a grim idea-no prejudice i am a muslim- and so at the end of the day the "martyrs" killed on the mv marmara did bring honour to their family in a morbid way. what the flotilla organisers wanted, they achieved. what they wanted was a universal condemnation of Israel and public simpathy for their cause so as to make future re-armarment voyages to israel easier. i do not condemn israel for shooting thugs aboard the mv marmara because they did it in self defence. if they were trully blood thirsty as you would want us to believe the would have killed sailors aboard the other ships as well. afterall haven't the arabs publicly declared their intention of wiping out israel? i don't blame them(israel) for being paranoid, in the same situation i would too.

Though we do not really know who took the videos and where it originates, we have the information that it was taken after the Indonesian earthquake in Padang, Riau. However, apparently this video was taken a few years ago in Russia. Hence the source is unknown and the location too but it is a very real video, not a graphic picture.
